Name,Hamilton Young hence the name Brigham.        Joined HMS Ganges in February 1963 and flew out the far east to join HMS Diana in January 1964 leaving in 1967.    Various spells at HMS Excellent,Floating Dock at Faslane,Naval Base aat Rosyth.     After Diana full comissions on HMS Ajax...HMS Ashanti and HMS Amazon.    Left the service in April 1979.              Now living in Kettering Northants,married with three children and seven grandchildren.   After leaving the Royal Navy I spent 6 years at British Steel then 27 years as a local goverment officer before retiring last July.      Hobbies are visiting battlefields and war cemetery's,gardening and supporting the local football team.

My most enjoyable time in the RN was spent on HMS Diana...when ships were ships and women were women..

Joined Diana in 1963 in Plymouth. I was a EM1. We then went out to the Far East for almost a year. Guardship to Victorious in the Indian ocean. We went to Singapore and Hong Kong.

Was involved when the Mysore sunk the Voyager. Our Captain was Commander Startin. drove the ship flat out most of the time. He was excellent at breaking away from RAS with a full ahead port thrity manoeuvre. Much broken crockery.

I was in the ships band called the Fabulous Escorts,with Jinxy Hickling, Ginger our bass player, I'll have to dig out some photos to remember our drummer and lead guitarist.

I'm am a serving soldier in the 1st Royal Tank regiment. My dad, a scouser called Denis Tague served on Diana in the early 60's. He always said she was his favourite ship. Sadly he passed away in 1998 when he was living in Torpoint, I know he was a cook and a keen boxer. I would love to know more about his service so if anyone remembers him please do tell.
