About Me
I joined the Royal Navy at H.M.S Ganges Nov 1947,after spending 4 years at Watts Naval Training School aDr Banardos institution My first ship was H.M.S. Duke of York, at that time flagship of the home fleet . I had a rude awakening from the comforts of a Battle wagon as my next draft was to a loch class frigate based in Londonderry N.I. I Joined Loch Tralaig May 49 as a boy 1stclass & left to go t Vernon as a O.D.Aug 50. I qualified at Vernon as a U.W.3. and went to Dolphin for Submarine training. From 1951. - 1962 I served in Submarines. In 1962 I left S/M's as a P.O.U.W.1. and was in the second class to train as it then was,as a Weapons Mech. I joined H.M.S.Diana the day after my 33rd birthday. 15th June 1965. I was 'B' turret maintainer and spent a very happy time, we did the Far East Bira patrol etc. The Captain at that time was commander Beeson. I left Diana April 1967. My time in the R.N. ended in 1972. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 0 CommentsLoading...
